(dropped her last name when becoming a nun)Nickname:
Former nun, Doctor
Angus Carter -->
(Distant cousin, met about once when she was five)
Personality:Mabel is a sweet, shy girl who from early on decided that she wanted to devote her life to her god. And as a woman that knew what she wanted out of life, so she did! She's extremely helpful and loves to cheer people up, even if the whole apocalypse situation seems hopeless. Mabel is therefore an excellent psychiatrist, in addition to having tons of experience in the medical field. Her specialty is dealing with pregnanices however, seeing as she worked as a midwife in her monastery. She puts all her will into being a good and accepting person, even if those she deals with annoy her to no end. Likes / Dislikes:
People who dare to be different
People who lack respect
Disrespecting holy grounds
Mabel grew up in a very religious, but very accepting family. From early on, she was told to never judge those who were different because of how they looked or acted. Honestly, opposite of how her cousin on the countryside was raised. Angus and her met once on a family meetup, and quickly found out they didn't like each other. She still remembers that meeting very well, and it still affects their relationship heavily. Mabel grew up to be a very clever, bright young woman and quickly found out she wanted to devote her life to her religion. And so, once she became of age, she moved to Brazil where she would start working at one of the monasteries as a midwife apprentice. The area desperately needed them, and she was only happy to help.
Living in Brazil and all, she didnt have much time or place for paying attention to the politic situation back home. Only time she started worrying was when she heard about the closed borders, and the cold wars with the other countries. But she paid no worries. Her life was not there anymore. But she should have payed attention, for only a day later the nuke went off- and the end of the world began. Most of her fellow nuns died, some survived. Out of fear for what might be going on on the outside, they agreed to keep inside the monastery for as long as possible. But that wasnt exactly smart either, for only days later undead creatures managed to break into the holy ground. Mabel and the others kept them at hold as best they could without violence, but one by one the other surviving nuns were eaten in front of her very eyes. She couldnt end up like them- not now. Her lord needed her.
Without thinking, she removed a large wooden cross from the wall and killed the undead zombies one by one. She whacked the symbol left and right- but regretted it instantly after the deed was done. She had shed blood over a holy symbol- but had no time to cry over it. Quickly she retrieved a couple of workers gloves from an unfinished building a while away, and made her way back to America. If she knew her relatives right, some of them would at least have survived. And so she travelled alone for a long time, her only company being some lone travelers who were on the same quest as her. Finding relatives. And what was surprising, was that she made it. Fighting her way through the endless wasteland with her lords symbol, reaching where she hoped to find her relatives: Nowhere.
Initially, Angus didnt even recognize her. Second, he didnt believe her. Third, he didnt accept her. But soon she became a trusty citizen, proving herself useful in the medical field- as well as helping troubled souls find solace.
